Thursday 25th June was the meeting date for Carolean Council, being the last meeting of this year for this Council, which meets at West Bromwich Masonic Hall on the 4th Thursday in February, April & June.
After a hearty breakfast, presided over by Ill Comp Peter Stokes, TIM and DepDGM, the Companions made their way to the meeting room for a very full agenda for meeting.
The Deputy District Grand Master, Ill Comp Peter Stokes, presiding in the absence of the DGM (who was at the District of London Installation), and being the Thrice Illustrious Master of the Council, presided over the meeting, and received the appropriate greetings and welcomed all present to the meeting.
The meeting took place at West Bromwich on one of the hottest days of the year so far. By the end of the meeting we had welcomed a brand new Companion, Steven Rowley. Illustrious Companion Phil Wills stood in as Conductor of the Council and achieved success in both the Select and the Royal Degrees. Right Illustrious Companion David Rawlins delivered the Select History with aplomb, while Illustrious Companion Christopher Denley expertly presented the Royal History. The ‘piece de resistance’ was Illustrious Companion Joe McCollum’s delivery of that wonderful piece of Cryptic Ritual, the perambulations of the PCW. Many thanks to all of those who took part, and who came along to support, and particularly to Ill Peter Stokes for his excellent handling of the meeting.
The next meeting is not until February 25th 2027 when Ill Comp Chris Denley, District GPCW, will be installed TIM. Finally, all present congratulated Ill Comp Philip Wills, who will be invested at the District meeting on 31st October 2026 as District Grand Conductor of the Work, in succession to Ill Comp Denley who will retire at that meeting.

If anyone would like to join this daytime Council, in a location that is quite different to the norm, they will be welcomed by all present, as will visitors. The summons will be circulated to all members prior to the next meeting on Thursday 25th February 2027.
