Wishaw Country Sports once again provided splendid service and a very sumptuous carvery at this ever popular social occasion in September, which was as usual filled to capacity. Those “in the know” always book early as they know how quickly it sells out. The venue is a wonderfully restored barn, providing a charming and authentic atmosphere.

Our Past District Grand Master David Rawlins first introduced the lunch some years ago and it has been very well supported ever since. The present DistGM Peter Wellings was asked if he had any plans to alter or move the event, to which he immediately replied that there was absolutely no chance of changing a winning formula.

Peter also thanked our District Assistant Recorder John Hayward for organising the event so well, presenting him with a bottle of Port by way of thanks, which John’s wife Linda would particularly enjoy! He also presented a bouquet of flowers to Anne Mitchell who was the genius and head caterer ensuring our complete satisfaction.

The lunch will be repeated next year, in similar format on 24th September 2023.
