District Grand Council of Warwickshire

Royal & Select Masters

The October meeting of Edgbaston Council saw the installation of our new Thrice Illustrious Master, Ill Comp Philip Wills, by Ill Comp John Hayward, in a short induction ceremony, which allowed the new T.I.M. to undertake the Select Master ceremony for Comp Richard Gale.  The installation was delayed by several months, when it proved impossible to hold the May meeting, which meant that Ill Comp John Hayward had a few extra quiet months, and a shortened year for Ill Comp Philip Wills. Nevertheless, a well attended meeting was enjoyed by all present.

For the Select ceremony, Ill Comp David Macey acted as Conductor of the Council, and R Ill Comp David Rawlins described the History of the Order.

Comp Richard Gale was the Candidate for Select Master at this meeting, being well known in Worcestershire and Warwickshire Mark Master Masons.  Ill Comp Peter Clarke acted as Principal Conductor of the Work during the first part of the meeting, and then as Deputy Master after the Installation.

The District Grand Master R Ill Comp Peter Wellings, a member of the Council, congratulated the newly installed T.I.M., and commented on the very successful and well executed ceremonies and congratulated all concerned.    Ill Comp Paul Mason was a great help throughout the meeting, acting as Direct of Ceremonies, and continued that role at the Festive Board.

Pictured below, accompanying the District Grand Master are Ill Comp Peter Stokes, Deputy D.G.M., Ill Comp Peter Clarke, Acting Deputy Master, Comp Richard Gale, Ill Comps Philip Wills, T.I.M.,  Comp David Richards, P.C.W., and Ill Comp Chris Denley, District Grand Principal Conductor of the Work.
