The Installation meeting took place at Wretham Road, Handsworth in the morning in early October, preceded by a hearty breakfast enjoyed by all. The Installation of Ill Comp David Ursell as Thrice Illustrious Master was expertly handled by Ill Comp David Ore, who has been T.I.M. on more occasions than most members would contemplate.
David went on to appoint Comp David Coley as Deputy Master, and to appoint Comp Mark Rea as Principal Conductor of the Work, together with the rest of his experienced team of Officers. The District Grand Master, R Ill Comp Peter Wellings was present with his top team to witness the Installation, and congratulated the new T.I.M. on his appointment, and all involved in the ceremony and subsequently appointed in offices. Having three relatively young members in the chairs, the future is in good hands.
It was noted that Ill Comp Ed Loft, for many years the Recorder of the Council, has given notice that he will retire from that office at the end of the year ahead.
Phipps Dorman Council is the oldest Council in the District, having been consecrated in 1919, and received its Centenary Warrant from the Deputy Grand Master, R Ill Comp His Honour Ian Douglas Gavin Alexander, Q.C in 2019 at the District Council Meeting.
