The Annual Silver Trowel Ceremony took place prior to the David Carr Hooker Council of the Ninth Arch at the Kings Heath Temple, on Monday 15th June. Six candidates received the Silver Trowel, including Ill Comp Kevin Spencer, Past TIM of Wretham Council.
Several Warwickshire Companions took part in this ceremony, in which R Ill Comps Cliff Bull and Andrew Sweeney, with Ill Comp Martin Grahame-Dunn played important roles to their usual high standard. The photos below were taken at the DCH meeting which followed immediately afterwards. Ill Comp Dennis Potter acting as DC, with the three Principal Officers ( R Ill Comp David Rawlins, V Ill Comp Mike Saxon and Ill Comp Tony Ball ) together with the Council IPTIM R Ill Companion Ken Downes, looking particularly relaxed as he is now very close to his retirement.
We all enjoyed the Festive Board at which there were about 40 present. During the proceedings, R Ill Companion Peter Wellings announced that for the forthcoming year in Warwickshire District, Ill Comp Christopher Denley will retire as the District PCW, to be succeeded by Ill Comp Philip Wills. All present were pleased to congratulate Phil on his appointment.
