The Installation meeting at St Martin’s Council was a really actioned packed spectacle. It started with a large number present, with numerous heads and former heads of many other Orders present, including our own District Grand Master, R Ill Comp Peter Wellings. All here to see a rather special candidate received as a member.
After a swift ballot, W Bro John Starley, known to almost everyone present, the TIM Ill Comp Dennis Potter, requested that R Ill Comp Andy Sweeney take the chair for the ceremony, which he carried out with great expertise and excellence. Without leaving the chair, R Ill Comp Andy then proceeded to install Comp Ravia Sian as Thrice Illustrious Master for the year ahead.
Ill Comp Ravi Sian, now TIM, completed the remainder of the agenda in a very professional manner. A very relieved Ill Comp Dennis Potter, now IPTIM, thanked R Ill Comp Andy Sweeney for taking the ceremonies on his behalf.
Under Any Other Business, the Travelling Trowel was presented to the Council by Ill Comp David Richards, TIM of Edgbaston Council, with an explanation of the significance of the Trowel in encouraging visiting, which it certainly had on this occasion with at least nine members of Edgbaston Council in attendance.
The photograph below shows the members of St Martin’s Chapter with their new member, Comp John Starley, who had been immediately invested as Steward of the Council. The newly invested TIM, Ill Comp Ravi Sian with Ill Comp Joe McCollum, Dep Master and Ill Comp Chris Denley, District GPCW, acting as PCW, and all members of the Council present.
The photograph below shows the members of Edgbaston Council, headed by TIM Ill Comp David Richards, handing over the Travelling Trowel to Ill Comp Ravi Sian, TIM of St Martin’s Council, to continue its travels around the District.
